Summer Camp at Youth Center

The staff at the Youth Programs Center is beginning to gear up for Summer Camp which begins June 11 and runs through August 24. Registration begins April 30.
    The program provides numerous activities that will keep a child entertained and active for the whole summer.
Summer Camp activities     Summer Camp is a daytime camp for school-age children, ages 5 to 12, which includes a variety of activities, such as horseback riding, swimming, rafting, river floats, overnight camping trips, and daytime field trips.
“The Summer Camp provides memories that will last a lifetime,” said Cindy Berg, Youth Center Director.
    Some of the field trips are to such places as Gates of the Mountains, a White Sox baseball game, the Lewis & Clark Interpretative Center, the Ulm Pishkun, and an overnight camping trip at the Bull Run Guest Ranch.
    “The Summer Camp provides memories that will last a lifetime,” said Cindy Berg, Youth Center Director.
Girls at AfterSchool activity     “Our facility offers the best quality program with a nurturing and caring staff,” Ms. Berg said.
    The Youth Programs Center has an outstanding program and is the only facility in the state with NAA (National AfterSchool Association) accreditation.
    This year the camp starts off with the theme; Follow the Yellow Brick Road, because the Youth Center was awarded a contract with the Missoula Children’s Theater to perform “The Wizard of Oz.”
“I loved the arts and crafts,”
said Mia, age 5.
“I really liked the horseback riding,” replied Terryn, age 8, when asked what she liked best about Summer Camp.

    Youth will try out for a guaranteed part in this timeless classic and the week will culminate with the performance on Friday, June 15 at 7 p.m. at the Youth Center gym.
    Children who attended last year’s summer camp look forward to the upcoming program.
    Cordell, age 9, attended summer camp last year. “The trip to Fort Benton was cool! We got to see cannons,” he said.
    “I loved the arts and crafts,” said Mia, age 5.
    “I really liked the horseback riding,” replied Terryn, age 8, when asked what she liked best about Summer Camp.
